You can share whether you are free or busy without sharing what you are doing: free/busy status exposes open-or-taken per time slot and nothing else. No event titles, no locations, no client names. It is the difference between an agency knowing you are booked Tuesday morning and knowing where, for whom, and why.

Because a working notary's calendar is a confidential document. It holds other companies' closings, signer names and addresses, personal appointments, and the shape of your whole business. A title company that can read it learns who else you work for and what they pay you in volume. No agency actually needs any of that; they need one bit of information per time slot, and there is a way to share exactly that bit and nothing else.
Whether a block of time is open or taken. That is the entire payload: busy from 10:00 to 12:30, free after. No event titles, no locations, no attendee names, no notes, no distinction between a loan signing and a dentist appointment. Free/busy is a standard calendar concept that Google and Microsoft both support at the protocol level, which means the filtering happens at the source, not on a promise.
Two things: can you plausibly take an appointment at this time, and do you cover this county. Everything else they might glean from a full calendar is at best none of their business and at worst a reason for good notaries to refuse to connect. A well-designed dispatch tool asks for exactly the two things and structurally cannot see more.
Four, in rough order of effort. Answering texts one at a time, which is the default and the worst: you repeat yourself all day and still get asked about slots you never had. Posting weekly availability in a group chat or email, which goes stale by Tuesday. A public booking link, which works for one-to-one appointments but not for dispatch, where the agency holds the appointment and needs to find a notary, not the reverse. And connected free/busy, where agencies you approve see open-or-taken in real time and requests come only for slots you could actually take.
Four questions, and hold every vendor to them, including us. What scope is requested: read-only free/busy, or full event access? What does the tool store: intervals only, or event details? Who can see it: only agencies you explicitly approve, or anyone on the platform? And can you revoke it: both inside the tool and from your Google or Microsoft account settings directly, so leaving never requires anyone's permission. A vendor that answers all four plainly is telling you the privacy design is real.
It gets you the right work. Agencies dispatch first to notaries whose availability they can see, because that is the path of least resistance, and the requests that arrive are ones you can actually take, because the agency saw you were open before sending. Blast texts for impossible jobs fall away. The notaries who benefit most are the busy ones, whose real availability is hardest to guess from outside.
You connect the Google or Microsoft calendar you already keep. NotaryBoard reads free/busy intervals only: never event titles, locations, or attendees, and stores nothing more.
